Waterfalls

Water from Rain and snow melt, along with Icelands unique and unspoilt geography, produces many spectacular waterfalls.

Gullfoss

The one that is most visited is Gullfoss, since it is on the popular Golden Circle route from Reykjavik.

Faxafoss

Nearby is the smaller Faxafoss. Notice the fish ladder at the side, to allow salmon to swim past the waterfall during salmon runs.

Seljalandsfoss

Visitors can walk behind this waterfall.

Skogafoss

This waterfall is a wall of water that seems to disappear into the river below.
